Maybank stock counter (KLSE 1155) has been trading lower for the past few months.
Many analysts have been covering these stocks, and many are putting the price target between RM9.00 to 9.50.
With a dividend yield of 6.60%, is it time to accumulate this stock for a long term income stock portfolio?
Let's look at the technical analysis to dive in further into this Maybank stock.
Technical Analysis
EMA 50, 150, 200
Candlestick
MACD
Stochastic
Technical Analysis: Candle: Heikin Ashi
Looking at the share price, it seems that it is still at the downtrend.
EMA 50 is below EMA 150, and EMA 150 is below EMA200.
We can see that the share price has attempted to break through EMA 50 for the past few days, and now is it cruising at above EMA 50 as new support. This is encouraging.
We can also see that the EMA 50 is now starting to be flatter vs a downward slope previously. If the share price does not go lower and go sideways and try to go higher, there will be a potential for the overall trend to reverse.
Since early of the year, Maybank share has never able to break through EMA 150, and it seems that EMA 150 is still below EMA 200. Long term wise, it will still take a while for the share price to go up.
Technical Analysis: Candle: Renko Chart
For Renko chart, we can see that the share price is now attempting to go up.
We need to monitor closely, as this trend may continue.
For long term investors and dividend income investor, one can consider to put this at your watchlist.
Conclusion
Maybank is one of the top banking stocks in Malaysia.
With a long term trend still downward, it is good to monitor this closely and take action when the trend reverses.
For long term investors, this will pose as good value as it is giving 6.60% dividend yield.
Not many counters in Malaysia can give such an attractive dividend yield.
Happy investing.
