Latest Malaysia Petrol and Diesel Prices [Updated on 19 April 2020] - Oil Price is dropping

Petrol Price Dropping Drastically

Recently oil prices have been dropping.

Thus in Malaysia, petrol prices have been dropping as well.

As of 19 Apr 2020, RON95 is only RM1.25 per liter.

While RON97 is only RM1.55 per liter.

It's been a while since I pumped RON97.

This will be a time where I can have a longer opportunity to pump RON97 to my car.

We can see that energy ETF (XLE) in US is also dropping:

Do you know the largest Oil Producer in 2019?
Check out the table below:

US in the largest oil producer, followed by Saudi Arabia and Russia.

It surprises me that Russia is the 3rd largest oil producer in the world.

China is at the 5th spot.

Malaysia is not in the top 10 list.

Investment Plan

Personally, I don't really invest in O & G company, or oil.

For me, this is a complicated sector that depends too much on the economy and demand and supply.

As I am not so familiar with this industry, I prefer not to expose my investment to this sector.

I still prefer to invest in those businesses that is simple to understand.

Focus on my circle of competence, which is the e-commerce and technology sector.

When you are very familiar in a particular sector, you able to understand the business easier.

And if you are working in that industry, you will be able to see the trend earlier than other retail investors that can only obtain information through annual report and news.

This will give you an edge that can make you very profitable in the long run.

Happy Investing! 😉
