How much better to get wisdom than gold, to get insight rather than silver!
Proverbs 16:16
Forward-Looking Always Wins
In this season of Covid-19 pandemic, many businesses are struggling.
But at the same time, some business are thriving as well.
The effort that they have put in has finally bear fruits.
These are the business that has prepared themselves in the past.
They are having good cash flow, low in debt, sufficient infrastructure, and most importantly, fast to adapt.
It takes leadership to make this happen.
Companies like Google, Amazon, Microsoft, Facebook, Alibaba, Tencent and Adobe are some of the best examples.
During this time, more people are going online, spending more time virtually, and making online purchases than ever before.
This is how these companies capture opportunities.
- Google introduces Google Meet for free for enterprises.
- Microsoft have Micorosft Team
- Adobe invested in Magento few years back, to capture the rising of e-commerce
- Amazon invested in 1-day delivery for e-commerce purchase, though it means sacrificing revenue for the short term. But we all know how it generated more loyal customers that way
- Alibaba, always innovative in their products offering
While some are still stuck in the old ways of doing business, these businesses are preparing for the future.
And they are still preparing.
The moment you stop is the moment you become obsolete.
Remember Nokia?
In order to thrive, we need to be forward-thinking.
It is not just about having knowledge, but it is about having the wisdom to act.
It is about capturing opportunities, now.
Do Something
Again, do something.
The idea that you have may seem stupid now, but it takes a courageous person to start working on your idea.
If other people think that your idea is crazy, congratulations. It means that you have no competitor.
Keep on fighting.
Find something you love to do, and do it.
Don't be a complainer.
However, opportunities lie in a place where people complain.
If you can solve the complaint of the people, it means that you are creating a product that people will need.
Invest in things that will be worthwhile in your life.
Time is the most precious commodity in the world, not gold, diamond, or silver.
How you use your time now will determine your destiny.
So use your time to do something for the world.
If you are only spending time for own pleasure, soon you will find no pleasure in the future.
Regret is not a feeling that you will enjoy in the future.
Learn from the Best
One of the best entrepreneurs in the world, Jack Ma, offers some practical advice of how to succeed in what you do.
What Can You Do Today?
Now, it is time to take some action.
One of the best phrases I always keep in my mind is: Take Massive Action.
The keyword is "Massive".
Many people just do not succeed, because they just do too little.
They gave themselves excuses of why they shouldn't do so much.
Most of the time it is due to self-image issues.
Massive Action will yield Massive Results
Ready, Action !!!
Here are 3 few steps you can do today, immediately
1. Write Down the Goal
Take out your notebook and write down the goals you want to achieve.
1 goal only. A human can't do so many things at one time.
Write down more if you are a superhuman.
2. Write Down the Actions
Then, write down 20 ways of how to achieve those goals. Be action-oriented. Even though the steps may be simple, write it down anyway. Be creative. Whatever that comes to your mind, just write it down.
3. Do the Actions
No secret here. Do the actions every day. Do this until you achieve your goal.
